「スコットランドの聖なる石」（小林章夫署）の中でスコットランド人気質の挿話としての以下ような話を紹介している：
英語辞書を編纂した18世紀の文人サミュエル・ジョンソン(Samuel Johnson）はOats（燕麦）の項目を定義した後に次のような感想を追加した。
「イングランドでは馬が食べるが、スコットランドでは人が食べる。」
A grain which in England is generally given to horses, but in Scotland supports the people.
スコットランド人を少し見下したこの感想に対して、彼の弟子でスコットランドの名家の出であったジェームズ・ボズウェル（James Boswell）は
「だからイングランドでは馬がすぐれ、スコットランドでは人間がすぐれている」
Which is why England is known for its horses
and Scotland for its men.
と切り返した。
この切り返しが優れている。やっぱりスコットランド人だ。

こうしてみると信仰に戻ることで平安な日に戻れるとし、いつの日かそうなることを約束している。そんな内容である。曲の全体的な印象とかなり違った歌詞だなと思う。
